Mark Raymond is an architect with extensive experience and expertise on a wide range of project types, based in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Projects currently underway (Q3/4 2015) include a number of private residences and an educational facility for a private educational institute. Mark studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and worked in the offices of Conran, Norman Foster, Ulrike Brandi and Degw and on projects throughout Europe before returning to Trinidad in 1993. he assisted the architect Colin Laird on the design of the National Library and the Brian Lara Promenade whilst establishing his own practice.
The practice has completed a wide range of architectural urban planning and design projects in Trinidad, Tobago and throughout the Caribbean both independently and in collaboration with other architects.
Whilst a director of the practice ACLA: works mark was responsible for the design of the award winning republic bank operations Centre in Chaguanas and the office of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain.
He has taught and lectured on his work and on Caribbean architecture at the Caribbean school of architecture (Kingston, Jamaica), the Universidad Pedro Henriquez Urena (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), Oxford Brookes University, London Metropolitan University (UK), and Yale University (New Haven).
He is currently developing a centre for architecture and urbanism at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad where he also lectures.
