Sarah Haley

Associate Professor of Gender Studies and African American Studies

Sarah Haley an Associate Professor of Gender Studies and African American Studies at UCLA, received her B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College.  Her research interests include prison studies, nineteenth and twentieth-century African American history, women’s and gender history, labor studies, black feminism, and feminist theories of violence.  Her dissertation examines black women and convict labor from Reconstruction through the New Deal.
